Effective treatment for chronic and acute pain, insomnia, depression and anxiety, digestive issues and hormonal imbalances.

Ancient System, Modern Applications

With a history going back more than 2,500 years in China, acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine which is now more popular than ever.

Traditional Chinese Medicine understands the human body through a number of energetic channels, known as meridians. Illness and disease in the body are caused by various blockages to these energetic channels. Practitioners insert very fine and sterile needles in points of the body that stimulate the vital force or energy Qi (pronounced “chee”), restoring health and vitality to the body.

This type of treatment has been shown to be an effective treatment for chronic or acute pain, insomnia, depression and anxiety, digestive issues and hormonal imbalances. It is also a powerful tool in preventative medicine, helping to strengthen the immune system and improve one’s sense of well-being.

Supporting Health and Well-Being

  • The Process

Acupuncture needles are so thin that many patients do not feel the needles when they are inserted by a practitioner. The needles usually remain in place for up to 20 minutes may be gently adjusted in the course of the treatment. The majority of patients do not report significant discomfort but instead report feeling relaxed and happy following their treatment.

  • Facial Acupuncture

Facial Acupuncture is a specialized form of cosmetic acupuncture where extra-fine needles (micro-needles) are inserted into the acupuncture points along the face to increase microcirculation, stimulate the lymphatic system and collagen production of the face. It helps to deliver nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells, nourish the skin from the inside out.

  • Pre-Birth Acupuncture

Pre-birth acupuncture will encourage the mother’s body to naturally release prostaglandins to soften and ripen the cervix for labor, and oxytocin to trigger contractions, in return reducing labour time. It also helps to calm the mind to reduce fears and anxiety during labour, which speaks to great length. Aside from promoting a smooth vaginal birth, pre-birth acupuncture can also be helpful in post-date pregnancy. Pre-birth acupuncture is used during the final weeks of pregnancy, the 36th week until the end of the pregnancy.
